Titans Overcomes Diamondbacks In Face Of Early 3-Run Inning


Titans weathered a push by Diamondbacks in the first inning where Titans coughed up three runs, but Titans still won 14-3 on Sunday. The offensive firepower by Diamondbacks was led by Martin Bueno and Anthony (Naz) Nazario, all driving in runs in the inning.


Titans got things started in the first inning when Pito Cotto hit a solo homer.


In the top of the second inning, Titans tied things up at three when Jayden Carraquillo's sac fly scored two runs for Titans.


Titans pulled away for good with two runs in the third inning. In the third Jeremie Torres singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run and Eric Melendez doubled , scoring one run.


Titans scored six runs in the fourth inning. The big inning was thanks to singles by Carraquillo, James Podolski, Cotto, and Melendez and a double by Torres.


Titans socked one home run on the day. Cotto had a dinger in the first inning.


Titans collected 19 hits on the day. Melendez, Torres, Cotto, Pete Carrion Jr, Podolski, and Carraquillo all collected multiple hits for Titans. Cotto, Torres, and Melendez each managed three hits to lead Titans.


Dave Rivera led Diamondbacks with two hits in three at bats.
